For this project, I created a typographic poster with no tangible images. Instead, it relied solely on lettering and symbolic designs to convey the theme of "What Makes a Piece of Art Timeless."I chose Guyfords "Black Lettering" and AKIRA Bold Lettering to illustrate the passage of time and the evolution of fonts. The fonts represented the gradual transformation of base fonts over time, resulting in new and improved text systems. The spades in the poster's upper corners symbolized timelessness. They represented the simplified form of a sword, reduced to its essential visual elements. This not only complemented the medieval-style lettering but also demonstrated how an iconic design can be transformed into a modern artwork while preserving its unique characteristics.

My artistic expression highlights the negative aspects of capitalism that I find concerning. The low threshold and grasping hands reaching towards the glowing dollar symbolize the universal pursuit of wealth under this system. It is as if the goal of financial success is constantly held at a lofty height, figuratively and literally, creating a sense of perpetual striving.

The artwork aims to visually embody my idea of humanizing the city through "third places" —spaces designed for relaxation and recreational activities beyond work or isolation at home. The interconnected hands signify camaraderie among city dwellers, particularly within the urban setting. The blue text was deliberately selected for its contrast with the underlying black text and the central black-and-white image, creating a visually striking composition.

This artwork visually depicts the concept of mysticism using typography. The phrase "As Above, So Below" in the center of the artwork is derived from Hermeticism and suggests that events on Earth or in the material world are reflective of the spiritual world, including heaven and hell. This concept aligns with the theme of mysticism, which involves the study and practice of self-reflection as a means to achieve closeness to God. The opposing figures in the artwork represent the contrasting aspects of ascension and damnation encountered during a spiritual journey.
